Liar Liar

Liar Liar, I think my boyfriend/girlfriend might have an STD but he/she keeps lying about it, what should I do?

In a country with a divorce rate of 50 %, it is safe to assume that a large number of relationships will eventually come to an end.  With this in mind, you have to remind yourself that you do not want to walk away from a relationship with an STD, HIV, or even hepatitis for a few months and/or years of “love.”

Results from our Would You Tell Survey indicate that almost 80% of our readers WOULD NOT tell a loved one or a casual sex partner if they contracted an STD.  Since you are the only person in control of your life and your destiny, you owe it to yourself to look out for YOU!

If you have any suspicions that he/she might be infected with an STD tell him/her that you want to go with them to the doctor so that both of you can get complete STD/HIV checks.  Present your suggestion in a non-threatening way by saying that you think that both of you should get checked out.  Do not settle for him/her telling you that they already went and everything checked out.  You need to see the results with your own eyes.

It is sometimes a tough conversation to have, but in order to keep yourself safe you have to do it.
